\"rfactor.sfh.lotus.elan.hires\"<\/a>Third strike for defending champion Verdegaal. With a commanding win at Vanport, Verdegaal leapfrogs over Kir\u00e1ly to the top of the leaderboard. Fastest race lap made the difference with Kir\u00e1ly, who secured a solid second place, but still had to give up his championship lead. The Vanport track seemed perfectly suited for the powerful Corvettes, but in the end three Lotus drivers occupied the podium<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Johan Nieuwenhof had some trouble clearing the Lotus field, and never got the chance to really use the Chevrolet’s power. When he finally could he was running in 4th place, already too far behind the leaders to make an impression. The expected tire wear sent him back down the ranks to 9th place. Next round, the VRL Winter Trophy goes to Donington for the last historic GT race.<\/p>\n
